Welonik.pl started today! Enjoy!

I’m honoured to announce that, welonik.pl – Polish wedding photographers’ directory started at 8 pm (+1 GMT).
We are very excited, because development process last almost 3 months – from idea to ready to go website. Please feel free to comment :-)

welonik.pl – polish wedding photographers’ directory

Welonik.pl – wedding photographers’ directory – is a portal targeted at brides and grooms from Poland. They should be able to find their wedding photographer very quickly filtering them by location (state, city) and typical cost of service. We believe it introduces new standard of presenting photographers profile and photos.

Today some people – friends, family, coders – receive invitation to participate in testing phase. It’s very likely testing phase will last one week. Keep finger crossed :-)

It’s really amazing – we started creating welonik.pl on 5 November 2009 and today we start testing part. What’s more – welonik.pl is not our primary project. We was creating it after normal work ( 8 hours per day ). Today is 25 january 2010, so time from idea to working portal is ~ 2.7 months! Grails is incredible framework which speed up whole process of developing few times. It’s also a real joy and pleasure to code in Grails. We think it’s caused by framework efficiency (feature/ quantity of lines) and DRY (don’t repeat yourself !).

In the end i would like to present statistics:
Quantity of *.groovy files: 46 and LOC (lines of code): 2469.
